I've probably mentioned this before, but besides fashion, home design is one of my favorite activities to do, watch on tv, and pin on Pinterest. I'm constantly online and going to Home Goods, Target, and TJ Maxx for inspiration for my apartment. One of the things I was really adamant about was creating a grown up space that would feel cozy and inviting when I came home from work. Since I spend a good amount of time in my room, I was set to make it exactly what I had imaged it to be in my head when we signed the lease. Although far from done, I'm feeling content with the layout I have now and excited to share my space!
My inspiration for the room was keeping it very neutral. I always had a boho style room with lots of color and texture growing up but in this space I wanted to keep it clean and calm with only pops of color. I loved the wood floors and wanted to let them be seen. As you can tell even my accessories are rustic with neutral accents. I also loved the western vibe that was brought out with my vintage, thrifted rug and the blanket my mom bought in college from Mexico.
The clean lines from my bed frame and this antique side table made it minimalistic so adding pillows with fun, geometric patterns made the bed look so pretty!
Adding personal touches like these string lights from Urban Outfitters along with dried flowers from special events and pictures of my family tied the whole room together! Adding plants, a macrame wall hanging and a full length mirror filled all the white spaces in the room so well!
I still have so many more ideas for this room that I can't wait to add on. Like I mentioned above, Home Goods, TJ Maxx and Target have been really affordable and fun places to shop!
