With everyone staying indoors lately, it seems appropriate to slow down, get projects that have been on the back burner finished, and spend more time taking care of ourselves. Although there's a lot of uncertainty at this time, there are still things we can do to keep our mental, emotional, and physical health in check!
1. Fitness:
Even though most of us are limited to our homes, there are lots of things we can do with this time! I've been trying to do at home workouts and yoga classes online. There are a lot of platforms to subscribe to to get moving. I usually go on Youtube and type in a pilates or barre class if I want something more upbeat. I've been using Popsugar Fitness or blogilates. I use YogawithAdrienne for different types of yoga classes as well. I also run in between for different types of activities.
2. Communicate:
I think one of the best ways to beat the quarantine blues is keeping in touch with your loved ones! I've been trying to FaceTime with family and friends to check in and make sure everyone is safe. It's been really hard not being able to see most of the people I love, but at least seeing their faces has helped. Check in on the ones you love because it's so important for us right now.
3. Create:
Being creative is one area I really wanted to work on while being stuck at home. I've found that writing and having this platform has been a great tool to express myself. I recently got a blank notebook to draw in and have slowly been filling the pages. There are also tons of fun coloring books out there as well to keep you motivated. Having creative outlets can include many areas. I know friends that are sewing, baking, and making crafts to name a few.

4. Learn:
Another great way to stay busy during quarantine whether for yourself or for your family is learning a new skill. Online classes and youtube videos can show you how to do things you've always wanted! Also educational platforms such as Rosetta Stone and Duolingo are great tools to jumpstart learning a new language.
5. Listen:
With all this uninterrupted time, I've been on a music journey! For different parts of my day, whether it's getting work done, tanning, cleaning, etc. I've been finding new playlists online and new artists to listen to. I use Spotify as my platform. Their 'Mood' playlists are broken down into pretty much every event and feeling in your life. The category 'At Home' has been a particular favorite that last few days. My favorite are 'Lo-Fi Beats' and 'Music for a Workday.' My night-time mood has consisted of 'Jazzy Vibes' and 'Your Favorite Coffeehouse.' It's been fun to dive into music where I normally don't get the chance to explore!
6. Entertain:
There are so many mediums of entertainment right now that I'm sure you're already into. Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, HBO to name a few! There are so many things to watch at the moment which has definitely given me, personally, a lot of entertainment. Some of things I've been watching are Tiger King (um so wild), Ozark (crazy), anything on Disney+, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, etc. It's nice to unwind after a long day with family and get some good binge-worthy TV time.
What we all, collectively, are going through can be so scary and overwhelming at times. However you plan to spend your quarantine days, it's important to get back to things you love and appreciate the time you have. I'm so thankful for the people on the front lines and am always thinking about the people around me.
How are you spending your days? Are you working or staying at home? Let me know what gets you through those hard days. I'm always here to talk!
Xo, Claire
