March Must-haves

Recently, I was browsing through some blogs online. One blogger had a section with monthly 'must-haves' which included all the latest, trendiest items on the market that you had to have if you were a somebody... And while I was curious about what she deemed a 'must' I also felt a bit inadequate. What she was promoting was a luxurious lifestyle, which as the reader, was pretty infeasible for me at the moment. So instead, I decided I wanted to compile my own complete list of March* must-haves for you! (*please continue after March is over)

1. Good company: This one is so important! The people you surround yourself with make a huge difference in not only your outlook, but what you feel you can accomplish in life. I feel pretty blessed that I have a circle that is A1. The importance of genuine connection with others is one of the most critical aspects of my life. I lean heavily on the people that I share my life with because I value their input and what they have to offer. Shoutout to my people❣️
2. Self confidence: Easier said than done... but while good company is very meaningful in a healthy existence, self confidence is equally if not more pressing. Because at the end of the day, you're left without yourself. How do you view yourself? What do you love about yourself? This one is one that I struggle heavily with. I'll admit I have a big problem comparing myself (I mean who doesn't) but it can get pretty dark at times. Focusing on the things that you DO like / love about yourself will ease the not so great parts. Ie. my understanding for others and my optimism are two key parts I like to focus on when nothing else seems that great!
3. Goals: Long term or short term, goals are always something to set your sights on. They keep you motivated and help you get to the place you want to be. For example, my big goal this year was to move, and I'm so proud to say that I accomplished it! But then I thought, I gotta find a new goal. The extra cool part about goals is that you feel soo good after you complete one. I suggest having a few short term, easy goals that you can accomplish within the next month or two and at least one long term goal that you continuously strive at. Each stepping stone, whether it be a work, school, or life goal, creates new opportunities... which will circle back to how in turn you look at yourself.
My three must-haves aren't always easy, I admit. Life and circumstances can sometimes be factors that keep us away from good company, self confidence, or goals we aspire for. But I believe that anything you put forth will come back to you, maybe not now, but eventually. The life you want is out there, and being ever present in that idea is what can help you attain these three key things. Today, I leave you with this: " My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." -Maya Angelou
