Thrifting: Urban Outfitters

Thrift shopping has always been a special, fun activity for me... finding cool, authentic pieces for CHEAP while simultaneously helping the planet. They’re both win wins for me. I feel as though it’s kind of an art form, locating and styling things that might seem like outdated or overused to others and giving them a breath of fresh air! As a future stylist, (manifest what you want in life ladies) it’s always fun for me to mix trend with my personal style, and it seems to have an audience! If you follow me on Instagram, you get to follow along on my thrifting journeys and help me pick items! Well, I recently heard about an Urban Outfitters surplus store chock full of discounted items. So today, I decided to check it out and give viewers polls on items I found. After much deliberation (aka wanted everything) I narrowed my haul to six pieces that I feel I could wear often. I thought it’d be a fun exercise to style them once I got home and show you guys two ways to wear each item!
1. Olive button down blouse: Ok so this top was a must for me. I love easy pieces to throw on and this color is one of my favorites. For these two looks, one was a casual look that I usually throw on when I have a day off. The second is one that I’d wear for a day date or breakfast with a girlfriend!

2. White cropped bell sleeve top: As a boho gal through and through, I love a good bell sleeve. This top is sweet and feminine and can be worn with pretty much anything! I styled it for both day and night.

3. Denim mini dress: Ok this dress is amazzzinggg! Fitted all the way through and such a fun spring / summer vibe, I had to get it. This piece is one that is timeless and versatile to wear in any season, but for now I’m channeling warm summer days.

4. Black mid length ribbed dress: This dress doesn’t need much explanation. A LBD (little black dress) without being little. This dress hugs your curves but is comfortable and easy to throw on in a hurry. I’ve wanted a piece like this for awhile, and for the price it was worth it.

5. Midi button down collared dress: This was another piece that I love. A vintage look but oh so modern. Another piece that can look elevated or casual. (Can you sense a theme here?) I dressed it with a simple belt and some slides or wear it as a kimono for a different look with some cool jeans and crop top!

6. Black booties: Everyone needs a good, solid black boot like this. I’ve been searching for a simple, everyday style. I have ones that are a bit shorter and embellished, but nothing that I can slip on and will go with everything! (Also I have a shoe addiction and will justify almost any shoe...)

So with that, those were my six items! Now I always try to find something new to add to my wardrobe that is versatile, fun and expresses my personal style. All the added pieces you see surrounding the items I already own, which means the possibilities are endless! And these flat lays are how my personal style is reflected. It felt good to get creative on my day off and play around with clothing. As the blog continues, I think I’ll add to this mini series and show you guys my sweet finds.
