Can you believe it's the first day of Fall? I seriously can't. I'm really not sure where the time went. But as the seasons change, well not so much in Los Angeles...(but one can dream right?) Fall fashion is in full swing! Layering those thermals, sweaters, and coats on are not only fashion pieces this time of year, but also a necessity. I've compiled a quick inspiration guide to layering on those tried and true pieces, as the weather *hopefully* starts to cool down.

The Sweater Vests

If you've been on any clothing website, social media site or fashion mag, you've seen that sweater vests are coming back in a big way! Oversized, mini, argyle, plaid, leather... they're everywhere. Of course this layering piece has so many style options to dress up or dress down your look. They're polished; perfect for that sophisticated, cool girl vibe. Fashion retailers are selling them by the droves or take a look in your dad / uncle / grandpa's closet and snag a few!

The Cardigan

A staple cardigan is one of the essential, more practical pieces someone can have tucked away in their wardrobe. Layering this piece as your outermost layer is ideal with a fitted undershirt or cami. This cozy look also can be worked many different ways! Recently they have been coming in all shapes and styles. I personally am loving cropped cardigans and oversized three quarter length ones.

The Overcoat

Wearing an overcoat always brings me back to when I studied abroad in London....(RIP memories!!!) I would always add one even on warmer days to add something extra to my outfit. That third layer is such a good one! They're probably the best staple piece for Fall that comes out every year, in every different style, but for good reason. I love the idea of have one or two neutral coats, in different lengths, and then one with a fun pattern or color. They always dress up any look and will keep you warm and chic from now through winter!

Fall is my favorite time of year for many reasons, but the fashion always gets me! I love cozying up to new, existing, and fun trends that are inspired for Fall. What's your Fall favorite layering trend?

xx, Claire
