Going to New Orleans, Louisiana, has been on my bucket list for awhile now. Known for its' history, musical influence, partying, and good ol' fashion Southern cooking, New Orleans to me seemed like such a cool place to visit. With my brother graduating high school and the traditional family vacation ahead, I suggested New Orleans. Both my brother and I had never been and with a unanimous YES from the boys (my brother, dad, and boyfriend) we booked our stay. Having just gotten back from said 'stay', I wanted to share my another one of my travels!
My family and I are kind of history buffs, so we decided to book a few tours while staying in the French Quarter. Sailing on the Natchez, an old steamboat on the Mississippi, and a walking tour of the Garden District where the old mansions lie were our first set-in-stone plans. We listened to jazz while on the water, learned about the history of the city and walked through the old streets. So cool!

You can't go to "The Big Easy" without eating your weight in Southern food... Gumbo, oysters, jambalaya, muffaletta, po' boys, turtle soup, and beignets, to name a few. We all shared in the grub and had some amazinggg dishes! It's so fun to be surrounded by music, laughter, and great eats.

Have you ever been to New Orleans? What sort of things should I do next time I travel there? If you want recommendations for great food or things to do down South, let me know! I'll link some things we did and places we ate.
